About TNHCThe Texas Nursing Home Coalition (TNHC) represents the unified voice of approximately 800 nursing homes caring for over 60,000 long-term care residents across Texas each day.
Proud to serve communities across the state, TNHC marks the first and largest consolidation of for-profit nursing homes in Texas. Formerly known as The Coalition, its founding members helped secure the largest Medicaid funding increases for the care of Texas nursing home residents in a decade. Since then, TNHC has continued advancing historic policy improvements that strengthen the long-term care industry, support providers, and enhance resident care statewide. |
Mission
Improve the lives of nursing home residents—by advocating for the resources, policies, and operating environment necessary to deliver high-quality care.
Vision
- Serve as a trusted, solutions-oriented representative body for Texas long-term care providers by prioritizing actions which enhance both quality for residents and vitality for providers.
- Be recognized by government agencies, lawmakers, and business leaders as the unified voice of the long-term care community.
- Protect, preserve, strengthen, and optimize the Quality Incentive Payment Program (QIPP) as a critical foundation for quality improvement and provider viability.
- Promote a fair, balanced, and collaborative regulatory environment that ensures accountability while preventing disproportionate, punitive, or inconsistent oversight.
Metrics
TNHC will measure its success by the meaningful impact it has on long-term care across Texas. This success will be demonstrated through TNHC’s ability to strengthen and support the provider community, promote and advance initiatives that improve quality of care, advocate for practical and effective policy solutions, actively engage members throughout the state, and maintain sound and responsible financial stewardship.
